 Renée Perry Mitchell
Renée Perry Mitchell, Artistic Director and Founder of rpm dance, is a Suffolk native having returned to the area after dancing eight seasons as a world-famous Radio City Rockette in New York City and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Renée graduated with honors from East Carolina University receiving a Bachelor of Music in Voice, concentrating in musical theatre. After college, she went on to tour the Eastern Caribbean as a lead singer/dancer with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines before arriving in New York City.
Renée performed annually as a Rockette in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Other credits with the Rockettes include: The Radio City Spring Spectacular; the world premiere of the movie Miracle on 34th Street; The Great Radio City Spectacular (in Las Vegas); The David Letterman Show; The Today Show; Good Morning America; and the nationally televised Lighting of the Tree at Rockefeller Center.
Renée is accomplished as a choreographer. Her choreography credits include: Assistant Choreographer for Thunder, a new tap number for the Rockettes; Choreographer for the Rockettes performing with American Ice Skating Olympians at the opening of the Rockefeller Center Ice Rink; National conventions for such companies as Sony and TV Guide; a runway show at New York's Waldorf Astoria; and excerpts from Thoroughly Modern Millie and Hair Spray, both performed at the Roper Theatre in Norfolk.
 Utilizing her vocal gift, Renée served as the original musical director for Project Dance, a movement of professional dancers that performs annually in the middle of Times Square. She also has served as a lead vocalist in multiple venues throughout the United States, such as the New York Film Academy, where she performed her original songs. Her CD of original music was co-produced by her husband Steven M. Mitchell.

Renée is also a judge for the national dance competition Starpower.
Through Renée's vast experience, rpm dance offers specialized, experienced and FUN training for future triple threats (singer, dancer, actors). Renée is overjoyed to have the opportunity to invest in the lives of Virginia's up and coming performing artists.
